  1. WebSTAR 1.2 Update

  3. Please follow the following directions to update from WebSTAR 1.0 or 1.1 to WebSTAR 1.2.
  4.  
  5. 1) Be sure the WebSTAR and WebSTAR Admin Applications are not running.
  6.  
  7. 2) Open the WebSTAR 1.2 Updater folder.  Drag the WebSTAR application and the WebSTAR Admin Application into your current WebSTAR™ folder, over-writing the earlier versions that are located there.

  14. • Improved compatibility with Open Transport

  16. • Implementation of "server push" and "send partial" Apple event capabilities in order to enable Web clients to receive data in real time from stock quotes to animation

  20. • Support for RAW file types--this is a file that WebSTAR simply opens and dumps the contents to the client

  22. • Ability to handle more connections per hour has increased by 50%, leading to 30% overall real-world server throughput

  24. • WebSTAR will now encode the "$" character.  This solves previous problems for clients and servers using CERN proxy networks.  As a consequence do not use the "$" sign in any file or folder name
